Licensing/Purchasing
Why do I need to purchase/license and image?
The images contained in this website are owned
by the people who took them. ImagesPhilippines requested their
permission to display their works in this website to promote the
Philippines and the talent of our local photographers and artists.
As such, if you intend to use any image in this collection and make
money from it, it is only fair that the photographer who
took it gets a commission for your use of his image.
Downloading and using the images in this site, as
they appear in this site, is permissable as long as the
following conditions are met:
1. The image will not be used commercially.
2. The Photographer and ImagesPhilippines must be
properly acknowledge as the source of the image.
3. The ImagesPhilippines Watermark is not removed
or changed in anyway.
If you wish to use an image from this site commercially,
or you wish to have a high resolution version of our images, the
you will have to purchase/license the image.
How do I purchase/license an image?
You can purchase/license an image by clicking on

What does the Request for Quotation form do?
To determine the price you have to pay for use of
an image, you must use the Request for Quotation Form. Fill-up the
personal information requirements in detail, and make sure your
e-mail, address and phone numbers are entered correctly.
Below the Personal Information fields there is a
text box that requires you to "Describe in detail how
the image is to be used." This field
is VERY IMPORTANT as it will be used to determine the final pricing
that will be quoted. Please fill out this field as detailed as possible.

What is Image Use?

What is Industry?
Pricing will also vary depending on the organization/person/group

What is Exclusivity?
Image licensing in ImagesPhilippines can be exclusive
or non-exclusive. Exclusive licensing means that once the
image is purchased, it will be removed from the database until such
time that the duration of use has expired. The purchaser
will have sole rights to the image for the duration defined. No
other copy of the image will be distributed. Non-exclusive use
means that the image is licensed to the buyer, but the image
is still available for licensing by other visitors to the website.
Consequently, an image currently licensed out for non-exclusive
use cannot be licensed for exclusive use until the duration of use
expires.
Alternately, we encourage interested parties who
wish for exclusive rights to an image to use our Service
Bidding feature to bid for photographer services.

What is Duration of Use?
The purchaser is required to define how long he/she
wishes to license out the image. Indefinite use is equivalent
to licensing out the image for a period fo twenty (20) years. Note
that one year=52 weeks. A holder of an outstanding license over
an image has the right of first refusal to renew the usage of the
image.
NOTE: Duration is defined as how long the purchaser
intends to make the image commercially available. For example, if
the image is to be used for a billboard the duration is defined
as how long the billboard will be up; for a book, the duration is
how long the book is intended to be available for sale; for a newspaper,
the duration is how many days the newspaper will show the image.

I completed the form. What next?
Upon completion of the form, a "ball park"
figure will be emailed to you for use of the image. The final value
of the image will be determined after evaluation of the "description
of use" by our account executives. The final quote
cannot be more than 30% lower or higher than the quoted value.
If the "ball park" figure is acceptable
to you, you are required to reply to the email expressing your interest
to purchase the image. Our account executives will then get in touch
with you to negotiate the final price for the image.

Can I request for a discount?
YES. But up to 30% only of the quoted price.
Our account executives are more than willing to provide discounted
rates, especially for special cases such as if the image will be
used for a charitable cause. Final decision on the price of the
image lies on the management of ImagesPhilippines.
Don't be afraid to haggle, we are very open to negotiation
concerning our pricing scheme.
